Indian Salad (by Smishri)

Indian salads are mostly made from raw vegetables and is served along with main course.The salads are seasoned with Indian spices .



Colourful and healthy salad.

1Cucumber finely chopped
1 Tomato finely chopped
1 Onion finely chopped
1 carrot grated
Coconut 2-3 tbs(opt)
oil 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds /Jeera 1/2tsp
Asafoetida- pinch
Chana dal-1/2 tsp (split chickpeas)
Urad dal-1/2 tsp (split matpe beans)
Curry leaves a few
Green chillies 3-4 finely chopped
Fresh coriander chopped
Salt to taste
Lemon juice

Method: In a bowl, add the chopped cucumber,tomato,onion,carrot ,add coconut and mix.Meanwhile prepare the seasoning.Heat oil in kadai ,add mustard,jeera,once it starts spluttering,add chana dal,urad dal,chillies,hing ,curry leaves.Once done ,add to the cucumber mix.Add salt and garnish with coriander leaves and mix and serve.
